KRZ Oil didn't start in a lab or a boardroom. It started on the water, in a family of inventors and rescue-team crewmen who spent their lives building things that had to keep working when it mattered most.
Dan Brown's grandfather, Claude Brown, was a creative and very meticulous inventor — always looking for a better way to help others and himself. He grew up on the waters of Lake Erie knowing full well the challenges that could arise at any second, and how to be prepared for them.
He learned that discipline from his own father, Walter Brown, the coxswain (navigator) of the Port Stanley Rescue Team. Between the two men, being prepared proved true more than a dozen times.
Claude built things to endure the wraths of mother nature — especially when your life, or someone else's, depends on it. He solved several early oiling issues on motorised vessels using an internal spray-mist and reclaiming circuit, which worked so well it was used in all his speedboats.
Dan's father inherited the same love of the water and the same "need for speed." He set out to create very classy and reliable craft. One of them was a 1964 single-seat, red-and-white watercraft he named the SEA-JET, originally designed for rough-water rescue.
He designed and built everything himself — the patterns and molds for the fibreglass hull, the sand castings for the complete jet pump, impellor, housing, and nozzle. The only thing borrowed was a two-stroke Sachs snowmobile engine, and its air-cooled lubrication was the constant challenge.
After many successful runs — and several attempts to water-cool the engine by wrapping copper tubing between the cylinder fins — the SEA-JET was prepared to be shown to other investors.
Dan Brown has the same love of the water and the same "need for speed," and has continued on with family traditions: helping others, inventing to live simply, and — of course — boating.
KRZ Nanolube is Dan's continuation of that story. A lubricant built by a family that spent generations solving friction and lubrication problems on hard-working machines, so other operators, inventors, and hobbyists can keep moving.
"We can't say it's the world's best nano lubricant and friction fighter… but you will."
Send a note — Dan and the team will get back to you.
